2018 TAPEWORM TIME TRIAL (TTT) SERIES INFO AND DETAILS
WE CAN START THE YEAR OFF RIGHT WITH ANOTHER FINE RACE SERIES AT THE BELOVED (TOWERS OF POWER) TRAILS WHICH ONE IS NOW 20 YEARS OLD. YES THE TAPEWORM ITSELF HAD IT’S 20 YR BIRTHDAY THIS LAST SUMMER SOLSTICE JUNE 20TH. ALL BUT ONE OF THE ORIGINAL TRAIL BUILDERS WERE IN ATTENDANCE. THE PICTURES OF THE NOVARA IN THE TREE WAS PLACED THERE BY ELA LAMBLIN AS WELL AS HE GETS PHOTO CREDIT FROM THAT EVENT AND FOUND THE REAR WHEEL OFF OF THIS BIKE UP ABOUT 30FT IN DOUG FIR TREE.
This coming 3 races series is very similar to previous years. Starting from Phillip Arnold Park on Renton’s historical hill. Great views can be seen from this park with an elevation of 400ft. Rain of Shine event will go on with or with out you. Grassroots racing and biking is a tradition with the TTT inspired races that have been going on for 10 years now. These coming TTT’s will be the 22nd, 23rd & 24th ones held. Approximately 6-7 miles the course covers connecting all the single track trails from Phillip Arnold park. Preride layout of coarse is usually ready by 10 am on race day with riders going out starting at noon. Average time is plus or minus 1 hour. Event wraps up around 3-4pm. After your lap is complete, there will be hot veggie Chili provided by the fine chef from Peloton Cafe in Seattle. As well as BBQ, snacks & beverages for all. Don’t forget to grab your TTT sticker from the pile before you go. Hope to see some returning contenders and some new faces.
